How good is your Inmail response rate

Do you use Inmails on LinkedIn? If so, how good is your response rate?    You can send an InMail by clicking the SEND INMAIL  link in the upper right of a member’s profile page or from search results.

  • InMails let you directly message members you’re not connected to.
  • Unfortunately Inmails are not available with Free or Basic Accounts.
  • If you have a Basic (free) account, you can purchase InMail credits.

You need to monitor the rate of your Inmail responses to assess their effectiveness. If you are not happy with your response rates, maybe you should change a few things in your Inmails. Consider the following when sending Inmails.

- Is your profile 100% complete? Before responding to your Inmail, the recipient will most likely visit your LinkedIn profile to find out more about you. If there are just 2 lines about you and no picture, what are chances that they will respond?

- Do you have a comprehensive company profile on LinkedIn? When I get Inmails I check out the companies of the people who have invited me.

- Keep it short and sweet.   Make it clear what it’s about  but don’t give away all the details in one mail. Do not appear desperate by any means even if you are!

-  Remember that when a person responds and you have their email and other contact details, you can also use your email or call them.
